The very first MaxMara collection, was created by CAV Achille Maramotti, who since 1951 has dedicated himself to Haute Couture: a camel coat and a geranium red suit anticipated his idea of pret a porter, in a period of time in which fashion was still considered a hand-crafted activity.
The very first collection, incorporated the ideals of future production: essential and precise, clean cuts and decisive lines. French inspired designs, but reinvented through the lens of traditional Italian style.
The success was immediate.
In the sixties, right as London became tha capital of fashion and new conceptions, Mr. Achille Maramotti was among the first to propose new and creative waves, together with a new concetion: Sportmax, addressed to young women determined to define their own look. Recent history is marked by the evolution of suits, structured styles and growing customer’s demand which consequently inducing each season to create new and different collections to meet women’s individual lifestyle.
